We have agreed to sell a 2-acre plot forming part of the Hollinwood Junction employment scheme on a subject-to-planning basis to discount food retailer Lidl.
The Hollinwood Junction scheme is being delivered in partnership with Oldham Council.
It is proposed that a 14,300 square foot store and associated car parking will be developed on the site. Lidl is expected to undertake public consultation imminently to support its planning application later in Q1 of this year.
The deal follows recent planning permission for 192,000 square feet of industrial and trade units on the site, which would conclude the employment element of the £40m project.
“The sale of the remaining land to Lidl would see the completion of the employment scheme at Hollinwood Junction. Their arrival will provide a more varied retail offer to the area as well as local jobs and rateable income for the local authority,” said Josh Downes, Senior Development manager here at Langtree.
